Luginbuel Funeral Home of Vinita, 918-256-5555, --- Robert J. Arnold, 81 year old rural Big Cabin resident, died Tuesday afternoon, March 10, 2015 at his home, after a short illness. He was born on February 26, 1934 in Blackburn, (Pawnee County) Oklahoma, to R. M. and Ollie Arizona (Sarratt) Arnold. He graduated from Blackburn Schools in 1952. While in high school, he was recruited to work for the FBI. After passing all the tests and background checks, he changed his mind and left Oklahoma to work at Boeing Aircraft in Wichita, Kansas. It was here that he met Mabel Dutton and on June 13, 1953 they were married in Wichita. They moved the family to Big Cabin in 1966 and started a Dairy Farm, they retired from the Dairy in 2000. Robert continued to farm and raise beef cattle. Robert loved his family, particularly the grandchildren. He was always telling his silly stories or grandpa jokes to the children, who adored him. Robert always warned everyone to never take a wooden nickel and to keep an eye open for a train of $500 dollar bills. He spent much of his time woodworking, collecting toy tractors and buying old tractors with the plan to refurbish them. He loved to travel and spent his summers traveling with his children to antique tractor and farm shows throughout the country. Mabel preceded Robert in death on September 27, 2009. The family includes; two daughters, Rhonda Lawson and husband Lawrence and Pamela Jones; a son Greg Arnold all of Big Cabin; grandchildren, Randy Lawson and wife Tammy of Adair, Lori Griswold and husband Joseph of Miami, Matt Lawson of Tulsa, Jake Jones and wife Chrystal of Claremore, Jeremy Jones and wife Rachel of San Antonio, TX, Alex Jones and fiancée Cameron Sund of Pryor, and Ryan Phounsavath and husband Seng of Van Buren, Arkansas; great-grandchildren, Cheyenne Flickinger and husband Chad, Chase, Kellee, Alayna, and Landon Lawson, Rhett Griswold, Devin, Braden, Gentry and Avery Jones, Robbie Jo Sund, Maliah, Kennedi, Andrew, and Zane Phounsavath; great-great-grandson Tyson Flickinger; a sister, Lois Hannah and husband Tom of Tulsa, as well as several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 2-4 PM on Sunday, March 15, 2015 at the Luginbuel Funeral Home in Vinita. The funeral will be held on Monday, March 16, 2015 at 10:00 AM at the Luginbuel Funeral Home in Vinita with Pastor Tobe Sperry officiating.
