Robert "Bob" Warren Brown, age 61, a resident of Bartlesville, OK (formerly Barnsdall) went to Heaven on Friday, January 16th. Bob was the son of Marion and Alfred Brown, JR. He was born three months premature on December 6, 1953 in Harrington, KS. He had a twin sister who passed at birth. Bob spent four months in the neo-natal ICU before he could go home. At the time of his birth, he was declared to be the smallest living baby in the state of Kansas, at one pound and fifteen ounces. Bob grew up in Dexter, Kansas. He graduated from Dexter High School in 1972. He lived in the surrounding areas as his parents were school teachers. He worked at Cessna in Arkansas City for several years and Clay Chemical and Char Mar Oil Company for a couple years. He began a 31 year career at Petrolite/Baker Hughes in Barnsdall, OK until he became ill in October 2013. Bob and Pamela (Halford) were united in marriage in 1982 and blessed with a loving son, Dusty Blake Brown in 1983, and welcomed home by a brother, Brandon Shane McLain. Bob was an avid fan of all sports with baseball, basketball and football being his main interests. Bob was a fanatic St. Louis Cardinals, Pittsburgh Steelers and Kansas Jayhawks fan. His greatest passion was to watch his son Dusty play baseball (who was an excellent baseball player-thanks to Bob who had a ball in his hand at two years old and a batting cage in the backyard at 8). He coached Dusty's little league teams, as well as attending and video- taping every high school game. When Dusty went to Kansas City on a baseball scholarship, Bob would make the 8 hour round trip drive just to watch a scrimmage when he had the day off. Bob was a "Jack of all Trades" and could fix anything. He was the true chef in the family-better even than his sisters. Bob loved the outdoors, fishing, hunting, camping, boating and being with his son, friends and his bird dogs. He spent a lot of time in his younger years at family reunions at Roaring River, and most recently, Birch Lake. He had a great sense of humor and loved to play pranks and joke around with his work buddies. Bob is survived by his son, Dustin Blake Brown of Bartlesville, his son's mother, Pamela Brown of Bartlesville, OK, his sister, Janice Sims and husband Allan of Arkansas City, a loving niece, Keeley Brookshire Mead and her husband Mark of Jenks, OK (formerly Bartlesville), his best friend whom he considered a brother, Carl Thomas and his wife Liz of Barnsdall, OK, his extended family, Blaine and Sheila Hallagin of Talalah/Barnsdall, and many friends at work in Barnsdall. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Marion and Alfred Brown, JR, and Dusty's brother, Brandon McLain. A celebration of life will be held at the First Free Will Baptist Church in Barnsdall, OK with Revered Rick Loggins at 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday, January 20. Arrangements are under the direction of Arnold Moore and Neekamp Funeral Home in Bartlesville, OK. A memorial will be placed at the new Ethel Reece Cemetery in Barnsdall for family and friends. Final Interment will be with Bob's parents in Cambridge, KS. No graveside service. Also, a fund has been set up at American Heritage Bank . In Bob's memory, his choice would be American Heart Association. Online/condolences at www.honoringmemories.com.
