Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home, Grove, OK.....918-786-2261.....Robert "Bob" Donald Cox, passed away quietly on Tuesday, May 13, 2014 at the age of 86. Bob was born in Tulsa, OK, the son of the late Neal Ned Cox and Artie Bell (Nail) Cox. After his service in the Navy, Bob married Loetta Morton and together they had two children. He worked tirelessly to support his family and provide endless opportunities for his children to be successful and enjoy life. During a full career on the Tulsa Fire Department, he earned a promotion to Captain. At that time, he was the youngest Captain in the history of the Tulsa Fire Department. Bob also enjoyed work driving chartered Buses for MK&O Bus Lines, delivering trucks across the country for Tulsa Truck Manufacturing and working as a Surveyor for KN Cox & Associates. Bob loved to travel which called for family vacations yearly in an effort to show his children every State in the U.S. On March 3, 1980 Bob married Marilyn Sue Rhodes and they spent the next 34 years making wonderful memories. His adventures continued with Sue as they enjoyed traveling around the U.S. and abroad. Bob loved his extended family, his country and took great pride in being a true Oklahoman. Bob would share with his friends that his Father never met a man he didn't like and quickly you could see that Bob, himself, was doing a fine job in following in those footsteps. He will be greatly missed. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers: Kenneth Cox and Forest Cox, three sisters: Pat Stanton, Dorothy Kopp and Pauline Lloyd. He is survived by his wife Marilyn Sue Cox of Grove, OK; one son State Representative Doug Cox, M.D. of Grove, OK; one daughter Gale Sharie Folmar of Kingsbury, TX; one brother Jack Cox of Tulsa, OK; one sister Barbara Cooley of Oklahoma City, OK; two step daughters; Laura Roberts of Grove, OK and Barbara Young of Tulsa, OK; and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren and other relatives and friends. The funeral service will be held at the First United Methodist Church in Grove, OK on Saturday, May 17, 2014 at 11AM with Rev. Gary Bishop, presiding. Arrangements are under the direction of Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home in Grove, OK where the family will greet friends on Friday May 16th from 5PM to 7PM.
