Luginbuel Funeral Home of Vinita -- Robert Ellis Egnor, 61 year old Oktaha resident, died Wednesday, April 17, 2014 at the St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa. He was born on December 20, 1952 in Vinita to Robert E. "Peach" Egnor and Arta Blanche (Scott) Egnor. Robert was raised in Big Cabin and graduated from high school there. Robert served his country in the United States Army from 1972 to 1975 and was stationed in Germany. He was a corrections officer at the Jess Dunn Correctional facility in Muskogee for 23 years, retiring in 2002. Robert started work as a Security Officer at the Muskogee Federal Building in the U.S. Attorney's office in 2005 until the present. Robert was married to Paulette (Elllison) on August 1, 2006 in Miami. He loved fishing, his horses, baseball and football. Robert was a fan of the New York Yankees, New England Patriots and the Oklahoma Sooners. Preceding him in death were his parents Robert E. "Peach" Egnor in 1991, Blanche Egnor in 1992, and his mother in-law Nellie Ellison in 2013. The family includes: his wife Paulette of the home; sisters, Ellen Martin of Oktaha, Barbara Ann Robison of Big Cabin; brothers, Dale Egnor of Estella, Archie and Mike Egnor both of Big Cabin; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives as well. The family will receive friends from 6-7 PM on Friday, April 18, 2014 at the Luginbuel Funeral Home of Vinita. The funeral service will be held Saturday, April 19, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at the White Oak Baptist Church, with Pastor Leland Bartlett officiating. Interment will follow at the White Oak Cemetery, with Military Rites conducted by the Miami Veterans Detail Team, Oklahoma Department of Corrections Honor Guard will present the State of Oklahoma Flag.
