Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home, Jay, OK 918-253-3222. Bob Hall went to be with his Lord just after midnight on August 3, 2015 at his home in Jay, OK. Bob was born February 20, 1959 to Melvin and Elouise Hall. He is survived by his wife Leanna, sons Brenten and Dylan of Jay, OK, son Justin Hall and daughter Tarron Duvall and husband of McAlester, OK. Also surviving are his parents Melvin Hall and Elouise Degiacomo, grandmother Erma Hill, sister Lynda Hunter and husband Mike, nephews Denver, Cody and Ty Hunter, grandchildren Braylin Hall, Aspen and Kason Duvall along with extended family including aunts, uncles, cousins and a large group of in-laws. Two unrelated young men held a very special place in his heart as they have both spent many nights in the Hall household the last few years and he would want David Meyer and Ethan Griffin to know he loved them like sons as well. Bob was raised in McAlester, OK and graduated from Savannah High School in 1977. He began working at the age of 11 spraying weeds and catching turkeys. He worked at many different jobs over the years, as a seed and chemical salesman. Bob and his family have owned and operated B&L Feed since 1991. He married Leanna Coble on February 5, 1988. They met at a rodeo in Yellville, Arkansas the summer of 1987, LeAnna summed up their life together saying "We had 28 years of greatness and even though it was cut short, I have no regrets!" Bob spent his entire life as a cowboy and cattleman, He loved training horses. Bob also loved to hunt with his best buddies, Jim Bob Winslett and Johnny Gibson, never a dull moment when the three of them were together. LeAnna recalls the last person to make Bob laugh and Smile was Jim Bob on Friday before he passed. Bob loved taking care of his land and cattle, even in the worst weather when most would just hurry to finish the chores, he would spend extra time to make sure all his stock were well taken care of. He was an avid team roper his entire life, he qualified for the IPRA Finals 11 times, also won the Average multiple times in the CRRA, qualified many years to the ACRA and PRCA circuit finals. Before his rodeo career ended he became a steer roper and roped several years at Cheyenne. He also roped at Rodeo Houston in the 1990's with Todd Markham. As team roping goes some of his partners were Donnie Vitt, Ralph Williams, Britt Bockius, Willie Allen, Steve Crow and Travis Graves when he was a young boy. Bob and Leanna produced some big Memorial Day Team Ropings at their arena in Jay. Hundred of ropers would come for a two day event that lasted into the late night but some of his best memories come from those events. In the early 2000's, he turned his attention mainly to ranching and improving his cattle. His greatest joy in life came from seeing his children succeed at their endeavors. Bob took pride in the fact that all of his children have followed in his footsteps and are keeping his cowboy heritage alive today, whether that be ranching or rodeoing and even his grandchildren are becoming top hands! Bob enjoyed coaching and pushing his kids to follow their dreams and put 100% of their efforts towards them. They have all made their Daddy very proud, each in their own special way. When Brenten began his own rodeo career, Bob's real calling surfaced and that was to mentor and coach other young men and women with their roping. He had the ability to bring out the best and inspire young people to be better not only as ropers and competitors but as human beings as well. Two thing he could no tolerate in life were thieves or liars and everyone knew just to be honest with him, no matter the situation., Bob had incredible faith and his advice to anyone who hasn't accepted Christ as their Savior is to just take that first step and Jesus will take you the rest of the way.
