Eldon is survived by his lovely wife, Nancy, of 53 years; two sisters, Louise Ashburn of Tucson, AZ, and Carol Mair of Buckeye, AZ; one brother, Earl Knittle of Auburn, CA, and one half-brother, Edward Knittle of Saugerties, NY. He is preceded in death by his father, James Edward Knittle, and his mother, Ireta G. Knittle; and half-brother, Marvin Knittle. Eldon was born on December 1, 1939, in Mulhall, OK. At 10 years of age, he was farming himself out to neighboring farms, driving tractors, plowing, planting fields, and repairing equipment. In 1958, Eldon graduated from high school in Ketchum, OK. He received degrees in Industrial Electronics and Industrial Electrical Maintenance at Oklahoma State University's School of Technical Training. From 1961-1964, Eldon proudly served the U.S. Army as a Specialist 5th Class (E5) and was stationed in Germany. He was a member of the 703rd Maintenance Battalion, specializing in field radio repair and was an expert marksman. In 1966, Eldon and Nancy moved to Dallas, where he accepted a position at Texas Instruments as an Electronics Engineering Technician. He was later employed at Highland Park Cafeterias as Maintenance Supervisor. As an entrepreneur, Eldon owned his own trucking business, radio and television repair, HVAC maintenance and installation. For many years, he assisted in the maintenance of various equipment for his local church. For the past 35 years, Eldon and Nancy have been involved with herbal and health products, starting with Nature's Sunshine. Since 1988, they have been in leadership positions with Young Living Essential Oils. Eldon loved antique cars, tractors, farm equipment, steam engines and trains.
