Robert Emry Mann 81 year old longtime area resident, died Monday December 29, 2008 at the Heritage Villa Nursing Center in Bartlesville. He was born February 23, 1927 in Vinita to Clifford Clinton and Jennie Mae (Williams) Mann. Robert was a veteran of World War II serving in the United States Army from October 11, 1945 to December 2, 1946. He married Vera May Rathjen on February 24, 1948 in Vinita; Vera preceded him in death on December 24, 2005. Robert was retired from the B. F. Goodrich Tire Plant in Miami. He was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Vinita, where he served as a Deacon. Robert was an avid sportsman, fishing for catfish, stripers, spoonbilling, hunting deer, quail, duck and squirrel were some of his favorite things to do. The family includes: five daughters, Flora M. McCabe and husband Don of Bartlesville, Roberta Charles and husband J. L. of Vinita, Virginia Smith and husband Victor of Vinita, Doris Goforth and husband Charlie of White Oak, Jennie Willis of Claremore; two brothers, Jack Mann of Joplin, Richard Mann of Kalamazoo, Michigan, a special brother in-law Donnie Rathjen of Emily City, Michigan; fourteen grandchildren, Robert, Doug, Donnie, Ronnie, Amy, Justin, Kristina, Skyla, Michelle, Raymond, Cathrine, Diana, Leigh Ann, Jeremy, Cody, nineteen great-grandchildren, Kristi, Dylan, Matthew, Lance, Jason, Alex, Jakob, Kennedy, Katlyn, Ashlyn, Christian, Mason, Luke, Andy, Chelsea, Brianna, Alexis, and Jesus; many special relatives and friends. Preceding him death includes: his wife, parents, a sister Lula Mae Mann, brothers, Everett and Jim Mann, a granddaughter Michelle and great-granddaughter Princessa. The funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 2, 2009 at the Calvary Baptist Church in Vinita, with Pastor Bruce Ganze officiating.
