Robert R. Tidwell 67, of Nowata died on Saturday April 25, 2009 in Hillcrest Medical Center. Robert was born February 20, 1942 in Blue-Ball, Arkansas to William T. and Syble Juanita (James) Tidwell. The family moved to Oklahoma when he was a young child and he graduated from Nowata High School in 1960. Robert served his county during the Vietnam War, in the United States Air Force Reserve. Robert married Barbara Bellamy on December 31, 1968 in Nowata, Oklahoma. He worked as a Carpenter in Bartlesville and then as a machinist at Par-Mac in Coffeyville, Kansas for many years. Robert ran the Tidwell Oil Company west of Nowata for six years before starting his on business, Bob's Ultra Snacks more than 20 years ago. Robert was a member of the First Baptist Church. He enjoyed his hobbies which included fishing, hunting and watching sports. He was an avid reader. Robert loved spending time with his family and was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He will be dearly missed. Robert is survived by his wife Barbara Tidwell of the home, two daughters Tracy Christian and her husband Nowel of Nowata, and Cindy Forsburg and her husband Doug of Tulsa, Ok, one grandson Cooper Christian of Nowata, one sister Tommy Joyce "Sis" Embree and her husband S. Dee of Nowata, two brothers Willie Tidwell and his wife Marilyn of Nowata and David Tidwell of Nowata, two nephew's Tyler Tidwell and Matt Embree, three nieces Robin Johnson, Allison Barrett and Rachael Tidwell, and several other Family and friends. Robert is preceded in death by his parents, one daughter Tonya Tidwell, one brother Richard Dewayne Tidwell and one nephew Jamey Tidwell. Pallbearers include, Kenny Stritzke, Danny Howell, Alan Moore, Larry Mitchell, Gene Hadley and Ralph Bellamy. Honorary Pallbearers include, Sonny Parsons, Sam Keller, Classon Park, Buster Lunsford, Clint Limbocker, Cooper Christian and Lon Rush. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 28, 2009 at First Baptist Church in Nowata, Oklahoma with Pastor Todd Brock officiating. Interment will follow in the Nowata Memorial Park Cemetery. Services are under the direction of the Benjamin Funeral Home in Nowata, Oklahoma.
