Benjamin Funeral Service - Nowata, Oklahoma - 918-273-2700................................................... In loving memory of our sister, Robin Gail Damron. She was a daughter, sister, and aunt who truly loved her family. Robin was 61 years old when she passed away. She was at home, surrounded by her sister, brother and friends when she went to be with the Lord on March 22, 2017. Robin was born April 28, 1955 in Pawhuska, Oklahoma. She is survived by her brother Steve; sister Kandy; nephew Ben, whom she helped raise, and wife Megan; and great-niece, Gemma. She is also survived by Aunts, Uncles and cousins. Robin was a home town girl who graduated from Oologah-Talala high school. While in high school she attended beauty school in Claremore and received her cosmetology license by the time she finished high school. She built and opened her beauty shop - The Robin's Nest, where she fixed hair while attending college. She attended both Rogers State and Bartlesville Wesleyan and graduated with honors earning her teaching degree. She began her 24 year teaching career at Wann school district before it consolidated with Oklahoma Union. Upon consolidation, she moved to Oologah-Talala school system and stayed there until she retired due to her cancer diagnosis. Robin loved her students. She enjoyed going to school each day and trying to make a difference in their lives. Endless hours were spent on preparation for her classes and making learning fun. In the 24 years of teaching she enjoyed seeing her students grow up and have children of their own. She was the type of teacher who students remembered because of her kind and caring ways. She had high expectations for everyone who crossed her path. Robin always put others before herself. She enjoyed spending time with friends doing all kinds of different hobbies such as attending basketball games - especially those Lady Mustangs, quilting, bible study, scrapbooking or just about anything that involved those dear to her. Robin was the caregiver of the family - taking care of her parents during their illnesses. There were many days she did not feel well herself, but, she always put them first. She loved her family and had such a special relationship with her sister Kandy. The two of them went through many good and bad times together. The thing that kept them going was holding on to each other. Her faith in the Lord was very strong. She lived each day to make him proud and try to be an example of how he wanted her to live. One of her favorite things to do was study the Bible with her friends. Throughout her battle with cancer, she remained optimistic. A phrase she said to her oncologist regularly was "God is going to heal me, and he is going to use you to do it." The Lord - our Great Physician - did heal her; by accepting her into his glorious kingdom.
