Rocky Lee Ferdig, Sr. 60 year old resident of Bluejacket (Timber Hill), went to be with his Lord on Thursday, January 9, 2014, with his family by his side. He was born on October 22, 1953 in Noel, Missouri to Kent and Louetta (Adams) Ferdig. Rocky attended school at McDonald County and then went into the United States Marine Corps, serving his country six years including time in Vietnam. He married Debbi Guthridge on March 5, 1982 in Sperry. Rocky and Debbi have lived on Timber Hill the last 32 years, he had worked at Allied Tower and had his own business, Timber Hill Sandblasting. He was an active member of the Family Praise Center in Vinita. Rocky was a fantastic Banjo picker and could pick up any instrument and play it well, he also loved restoring and collecting old cars, hunting and fishing, the simple outdoor life and most of all his kids and grandkids. Those preceding him in death include; his father, Kent Ferdig, and a brother, Jimmy Ferdig. The family includes: his wife Debbi of the home; his mother, Louetta Ferdig of Timber Hill; his children, Rocky Ferdig, Jr. and wife Kimberly of Commerce, Natasha Hiseley and husband Joseph, Christopher Ferdig and wife Jessica, all of Vinita; siblings, Eugene Ferdig of Noel, MO, Donna Clark and husband Rick of Timberhill, Rita Livingston and husband Eugene of Welch; grandchildren, Samuel, Elizabeth and Josiah Hiseley, Lane Ferdig and Cody Ferdig. The family will receive friends from 2-4 p.m. on Sunday, January 12, 2014 at the Luginbuel Funeral Home in Vinita. The funeral will be held on Monday, January 13, 2014, at 10:00 a.m. at the Family Praise Center in Vinita, with Pastors Jerry Ogdon and Rick Barrett officiating. Interment and Military Rites will follow at the Bluejacket Cemetery. Casket Bearers will be Travis Jones, Kyle and Kevin Ferdig, Greg Jones, Stanley Carpenter, and Jeremy Poole. Honorary Bearers will be Bud Lavender, Delvin Simmons, Jr., Greg Hiseley, his four grandsons, Samuel, Josiah, Lane and Cody. Online condolences may be made at www.honoringmemories.com.
