Roger Lee Davis, 80, a resident of Grove passed away at Grove Nursing Center on Thursday, August 20, 2009. He was born on March 7, 1929 in Kansas City, Kansas to Floyd Franklin and Florence Agnes (Justice) Davis. Mr. Davis was a veteran of the United States Air force and the United States Army. He then worked as a California Highway Patrolman before moving to Kansas City area where he worked with KC Telephone and KC Power and Light and also as a design engineer. Some of Mr. Davis' hobbies included working with young kids to train them in the Civil Air Patrol, Boy Scouts and was a HAM radio operator along with being a member of the American Legion. He enjoyed Bowling, Fishing and working on small carpentry projects and Arts and Crafts with his wife Renee. Roger was preceded in death by his parents Floyd and Florence Davis, and his brothers Gary, Allen, Wilbur and a sister Mildred. Survivors include his wife Renee (Banne) Davis of the home, his children Darrell Davis of Tulsa, Denise Davis of Broken Arrow, Darlinda Hook of West Columbia, South Carolina and De Lenhardt of Seattle Washington, a sister Laura Mitchell of California. Services for Mr. Davis are 11:00 AM Tuesday, August 25, 2009 at the First United Methodist Church in Grove with Reverend Randy Hamill officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of the Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home of Grove. Memorial Contributions may be made to the First United Methodist Church in Grove.
