Roger Ortlieb

Luginbuel Funeral Home of Vinita, 918-256-5555. Roger D. Ortlieb, 71 year old well-known minister from Vinita, passed away on Sunday, May 21, 2017 at the St. Francis Hospital of Vinita. He was born on November 9, 1945 in Vinita to Charles E. and Nina Mae (Trickey) Ortlieb. Roger accepted the Lord at the age of four. Church and preaching were the most important things in his life. He started preaching at the age of seven and preached a two week revival in Muskogee at the age of ten. When he had a stroke at the age of fifteen, his parents tried to encourage him to get vocational training, but Roger knew his calling was preaching. Roger married Colleen Pryor on July 17, 1970 at the Verdigris Assembly of God Church. His hobbies were his church and friends, he loved people, laughing and having a good time. Roger was a graduate of Vinita High School and attended Southwestern Assemblies of God University in Waxahachie, Texas. He loved to travel, play the piano, the fellowship of friends, sharing God's word and drinking a Pepsi. Preceding him in death, his parents, a son, David Ortlieb in 1999 and two infant grandchildren. The family includes; his wife Colleen of the home; his daughter Julie Ortlieb of Vinita; daughter in-law, Kerri Favrow of Willard, Missouri; grandhchildren, Alyssa, Austin, Josiah, and MaKenna Ortlieb all of Willard, Missouri, also numerous cousins, other relatives and friends. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 PM on Tuesday, May 23, 2017 at the Luginbuel Funeral Home in Vinita. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May 24, 2017 at 1:00 PM at the Emanuel Church, with Pastors, Jim Duck, Francis VanBeber and Danny Rogers officiating.
