Luginbuel Funeral Home of Vinita, 918-256-5555. -- Ronald Jay Harvey, 67 year old Vinita resident, passed away on Monday, July 11, 2016 at his home, after an extended illness. He was born on January 2, 1949 in Nowata to J. T. and Marie (Morris) Williams. Ron graduated from Nowata High School, the attended tech schools in Tahlequah and Tulsa. He owned and operated Ron's Heat and Air before retiring a few years ago. Ron was married to Carolyn Louise (Tucker) Harvey in Miami in 1981. He was an avid fisherman, hunter, golfer and pool player. Most of all he enjoyed being with his family and many friends. He was preceded in death by his father, J. T. Harvey; two brother's Terry and Floyd Harvey. The family includes; his wife Carolyn of the home; his mother, Marie Williams of Nowata; his children, Sherry Smith and husband Randy of Vinita, Ronald J. "Pudge" Harvey II, of Nowata; three grandchildren, Krista Long and husband Justin, John Wesley Smith, Tatem Christine Harvey; and one great-grandchild, Sadie Smith. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Thursday, July 14, 2016 at the Luginbuel Funeral Home in Vinita. The funeral will be held on Friday at 10:00 AM, July 15, 2016 at the Emanuel Temple Church, west of Vinita, with Pastor Bruce Butler officiating. Interment will follow at the Fairview Cemetery in Vinita. Online condolences may be made at www.honoringmemories.com. Arrangements are by the Luginbuel Funeral Home of Vinita.
