Ronald “Slim” Lee Tiry “63” left this world on Friday, July 8, 2022, at his home in Delaware. Ronald was born in Nowata, OK on January 11, 1959, to Mrs. Margaret Elliott and Mr. Earl Shaw.
“Slim” as he was often called by friends and family was the youngest of 6 siblings. He attended School in Nowata, OK. After school, he worked on a dairy farm in Texas Milking Cows and helping out around the farm. The he moved on to the oil field industry.
Grandpa Slim loved his family and especially his grandchildren. I remember when he and Tyler refinished Tyler’s boat. They thought they could go into that business. They were so proud of that boat. When Tyler drove grandpa to Bartlesville in our big Chevy Caprice, he could barely see over the steering wheel at age 12 to pick up Gramp’s medicine. I can say for certain that he was Gramp’s little buddy. Then we have Skylar Dawn, grandpa’s only granddaughter. They loved riding to town to go to Sonic together. She loved seeing him coming. Slim also loved fishing and hitting up the casino to do a little gambling. I remember he traveled the road a lot working hard to provide for his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents; Margaret Elliot and Earl Shaw, four brothers; Jack Tiry, Norman Shaw, Robert Shaw, and a sister; Cathy Wohlschlegel.
He is survived by his two daughters; Amanda Chambers and her husband Marshane, of Bartlesville,OK, Barbara Tiry, of Skiatook, OK, stepdaughter; Hanna Walls, of Ada, OK, three grandsons; Chance Thomison, Tyler Thomison, and Rocco Bunge, a granddaughter; Skylar Thomison, great great grandson; Armani Thomison, a brother; Don Shaw, of Ochelata, a step-brother; Bob Tiry, of Nowata, and his girlfriend; Susie Kellogg, of Nowata, OK.
