Ruby Cordray

Ruby Lea Cordray, age 80 and lifetime Craig County resident, died Tuesday July 28, 2009. Ruby was born on October 29, 1928 the daughter of James and Sarah (Brown) Foster. She attended Northeastern State University in Tahlequah where she earned a degree in teaching. In 1951 she was united in marriage to Thomas "Tom" David Cordray. Ruby was a member of the First Baptist Church and served as a volunteer at Craig General Hospital as well as the Senior Citizens. She loved spending time with her family, her cats and farm animals, fishing, gardening, and playing dominos. Ruby is preceded in death by her husband Tom Cordray, parents, 3 brothers, and 5 sisters. Survivors include her special nephews Kenneth Ware of Vinita and Roger Cordray of Catoosa as well as other numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 6-7 p.m. Thursday July 30, 2009 at Luginbuel Funeral Chapel. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Friday July 31, 2009 at the First Baptist Church of Vinita with Pastor Skip McClain officiating. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery.
