Ruby Kay Keeler, 89 year old Grove, Oklahoma resident, formerly of Garden City, Kansas, passed away Sunday, May 6, 2012. Ruby was born on April 18, 1923 in Logan County, Kentucky; the youngest daughter of 11 children to George Riley Taylor and Jenniva Seba (Whitaker) Taylor. On April 11, 1946 Ruby married John Keeler in Pittsburg, Kansas. Ruby was the owner of Kay's Beautyrama where she was a hairdresser for twenty-five years, after which she was employed with Fidelity State Bank. She was a member of the Carthage Church of Christ, an avid golfer, bridge player, and volunteered at Mcune Brook hospital gift shop in addition to being a proud veteran of World War II, serving as a Wave in the Navy. Ruby retired with her husband John to Carthage, Missouri for ten years, after moving from Garden City, Kansas, where she lived with her family for 40 years. John preceded her in death on March 22, 2001. Ruby is survived by a son Dennis Keeler of Nashville, Tennessee, daughter, Brenda Binns of Grand Lake, Oklahoma, as well as two grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews. Graveside services for Ruby will be held 10:00 a.m. on Friday, May 11, 2012 at the Park Cemetery in Carthage, Missouri. A visitation for Ruby will be held from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 10, 2012 at the Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home in Grove, Oklahoma.
