Ruby Smith

Ruby Carlene Smith, 75 year old long time Vinita resident, passed away on Tuesday, July 10, 2012 at the Craig General Hospital. She was born to Percy and Clara (Chandler) Kuder on January 12, 1937 in Afton. Carlene attended school in Afton, Chelsea and Vinita. She married Elmer Martin on May 2, 1955; he preceded her in death on November 4, 1963. Carlene married Don Smith on August 7, 1964 in Vinita; he preceded her in death on April 5, 1999. She was a member of the Kelso Baptist Church northeast of Vinita. Carlene's family includes: two daughters, Carla Darr and husband Randy of Quapaw, Kelli Merit of Vinita; two sons, Steve Martin and Chris Smith both of Vinita; four granddaughters, Amy Bass and husband Kevin, Freddi Leake both of Quapaw, Shaylee Merit of Vinita, Kelsey Darr of Miami; grandson, Randy Darr and wife Callie of Miami; five great-granddaughters, Rebecca Goss, Destiny Leake, Hailee Leake all of Quapaw, Emma Darr, Jaylee Hessee both of Miami; two great-grandsons, Chase Leake of Quapaw and Callin Darr of Miami; sister in-law, Caroline Kuder of Wann, close family friend Rick Cogburn of Vinita and numerous nieces, nephews. Preceding her in death were her parents, two husbands, two brothers, Alvin "Bunt" Kuder and Joe Kuder; one sister, Della Longtail; sister in-law Betty Kuder; granddaughter, Amanda Walls and grandson Saige Deitrick. The funeral service will be held, Saturday, July 14, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at the Luginbuel Chapel, with Rev. Bill Busch and Kevin Bass officiating. Interment will follow at the Fairview Cemetery in Vinita. Online condolences may be made at www.honoringmemories.com. Arrangements are by the Luginbuel Funeral Home of Vinita.
