Sandra L. Dale, age 84, and resident of Bartlesville, Oklahoma, passed away at her residence on December 2, 2022. Sandra Lea Niederecker was born in St. Louis, Missouri on February 15, 1938. Her parents were Helen and A. H. (Chick) Niederecker. She was raised in St. Louis, Missouri and the surrounding Illinois area. Sandra graduated high school in 1955 from Notre Dame Academy, Belleville, Illinois and attended Belleville Junior College.
In 1961, she married Charles A. (Al) Wentz from Edwardsville, Illinois. They settled in Bartlesville, Oklahoma as Al began a job with Phillips Petroleum. She and Al also lived in New York, Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Virginia, before they returned to Bartlesville with their four children.
Sandra graduated from Tri County Tech’s LPN Nursing Program in 1983 and began her work at Jane Phillips Hospital, Bartlesville, Oklahoma. In 1995, Sandra married Albert M. (Al) Dale and retired from nursing. She was preceded in death by her husband Al Dale in 2000.
She was a member of St. John’s Before the Latin Gate Church. As an active member, she was a past President of the Women’s Association and a Eucharist Minister. Additionally, she was a past President of Newcomers, a Meals on Wheels Volunteer and enjoyed playing bridge with friends as well as cooking, entertaining, reading and traveling.
Sandra is survived by her four children, Sharon Evans and her husband, Berry, of Boerne, Texas, Christopher Wentz and his wife, Karla, of Highland Village, Texas, Suzanne Cook of Houston, Texas, and Sheila Wentz of Dallas, Texas. She is also survived by five grandchildren, Reygan Wentz, Jessica Bolen and husband, Alex, Meredith Bolen, Bailey Cook and Megan Cook, her sister, Deborah Thompson, and husband, Larry, of San Angelo, Texas, her niece, Angela Jacobson, and husband, Rob, of Punta Gorda, Florida and three nephews, Thomas Vaughn and wife, Stacy, of San Angelo, Texas, Michael Vaughn and wife, Sheryl, of San Angelo, Texas, and Edward Wentz of Edwardsville, Illinois.
Funeral arrangements have been made with Arnold Moore and Neekamp Funeral Home. She will be laid to rest at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church with her husband, Al Dale. A funeral mass will be held at ten o’clock a.m. on December 30, 2022 at St. John’s Before the Latin Gate Catholic Church, 715 South Johnstone Avenue in Bartlesville.
