Scott J Edmiston, 46, passed away Monday, January 17, 2011, in Collinsville, OK. He was born August 10, 1964 in Nowata, Oklahoma to Bill and Jonell (Jarvis) Edmiston. Scott attended Hoover elementary, Whitney Jr. High and Hale High school. Scott loved and was involved in auto racing for much of his early life. He raced in quarter midgets, micro midgets and dirt champ cars, winning two Grand National Championships in Quarter Midgets. Scott was outlaw Micro Midget champion at Port City Raceway in Tulsa. Scott raced dirt champ cars very successfully for several years. He had many fans and supporters and showed the potential for a great racing career. Several circumstances ended Scott's racing prematurely. Scott fought these problems for many years, eventually succumbed to them resulting in his tragic death. With all this adversity, Scott will be forever loved and missed by Family and Friends. He was previously employed by Factor One Racing, Werco Manufacturing and for the last seven years at Lufthansa Technik. Scott was preceded in death by his mother Jonell. He is survived by his Father Bill; three daughters, Jordan, Jodi and Jessica; sister, Gina Kirchner; Aunt, Nancy Noel; nephews; Justin, Cody and niece Kasey. In lieu of flowers the family requests donation to a fund for Scott's children At the American Bank of Oklahoma, 200 E. Main, Collinsville, OK 74021. The family will receive Friends at Benjamin Funeral Service, 114 W. Cherokee, Nowata, Ok. 74048, on Monday, January 31, 2011, from 12:00 to 1:30 p.m. Interment will follow at Nowata Memorial Park Cemetery.
