Benjamin Funeral Service - Nowata Oklahoma Sharon Sue Froelich (62), of Nowata, passed away at Jane Phillips Medical Center in Bartlesville April 30, 2014. She was born in Kansas City, Missouri, June 10, 1951, to Wilmer Lee Parrett and Elizabeth Ann (Taggart) Parrett. She attended Coffeyville High School and February 12, 1988 she married Richard Froelich in Miami, Oklahoma. Sharon was a very active volunteer over the years. She started and ran a Desert Storm Support Group in Vinita while our troops were serving our country. She was very active volunteering and helping people with special needs and disabilities. The Nowata Fire Department Auxiliary was one of her favorite places to volunteer. Sharon had a dear place in her heart for helping other. She loved studying her genealogy and learning about her ancestors. Sharon collected Indian crafts and artifacts that she could relate to her heritage. The Kansas City Chiefs, Oklahoma Sooners and Oklahoma City Thunder were her favorite sports teams and Sharon supported each and every one of them with enthusiasm. She loved the outdoors, boating, fishing and working in her yard and garden. When she had time she enjoyed reading books and caring for her dogs and cats. Above all, the most close to her heart was her family. The love and care she gave her husband, children, grandchildren, and family is unmatched. She will be missed by all who knew her. Proceeding Mrs. Froelich in death are her father Wilmer Lee Parrett, mother Elizabeth Ann Parrett, step-mother Mabel Parrett, brother Stephen Parrett, and an uncle, Butch Robert Taggert. Survivors include her husband Richard Froelich, of the home in Nowata, children, Michael Allen Hicks and wife Brenda, of Afton, Oklahoma, Marshall PJ Froelich, of Hutchinson, Kansas, Ashley William Froelich, of Nowata, eight grandchildren, siblings, Warren Parrett and wife Shirley, of Louisburg, Kansas, Michael Parrett and wife Gwen, of Independence, Kansas, Patrick Parrett and wife Susan, of Accokeek, Maryland, many other relatives and a host of friends. Donations are suggested to be given to the Nowata Volunteer Fire Department. The family will receive guests at Benjamin Funeral Home, 114 W. Cherokee, Nowata, Oklahoma, Sunday, May 4, 2014 from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
