Sharon Mcdaniel

Sharon Kay McDaniel was born on August 10, 1944 in Jefferson City, MO. She was the daughter of the late John Edward Sharp and Penelope Nellie Crystal (Stogdill) Sharp. Sharon spent her first few years in Jefferson City and then the family moved to Quapaw, OK as her father worked in the mines. Not long after moving there, her father passed away. Sometime later her mother married Luther Potter and the family moved to the Colcord area. It was here that she and Gerald McDaniel met. They were married November 19, 1960 here in Colcord. Sharon spent the first few years of their marriage raising her family. As the children got older, she went to work as a Nurses Aid for several nursing homes. Those nursing homes included Guinn Nursing Home which is now Monroe Manor in Jay, OK and Woodland Manor which is now Siloam Springs Nursing and Rehab in Siloam Springs. She worked as a Nurses Aid for 30 years. Sharon enjoyed watching her favorite soap operas and doing crossword puzzles, but most of all she enjoyed being around her family, especially her grandkids. Sharon passed away at the Claremore Regional Hospital in Claremore, OK, on Wednesday, August 21, 2013 at the age of 69. She was preceded in death by her parents; her step-dad, Luther Potter, one sister Janie Becthel; one brother Howard Stogdill. She is survived by her husband: Gerald of the home in Colcord; Five children: Phyllis Stafford of Colcord, OK; Gerald McDaniel, Jr. of Colcord, OK, James McDaniel of Colcord, OK, Jerry McDaniel of Shattuck, OK, Sherry McDaniel of Wagoner, OK; She is survived by: Seven grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; One sister: Pearl Nicklen and her husband Vernon of Madison, KS; She is survived by a host of other relatives and friends.
