Shirley Hanes

Luginbuel Funeral Home of Vinita, 918-256-5555. Shirley Jane (Montgomery) Hanes, 81 year old long time Claremore resident, passed away late Monday, April 10, 2017 in Broken Arrow. She was born on May 17, 1935 in Vinita to Mary Aline (Pool) and Robert Fredrick Montgomery. Shirley married Roscoe Hanes on December 1, 1950 in Vinita. She was a wife and mother to her husband Roscoe and their four children, she was also a grandmother and great-grandmother. Shirley enjoyed baking, watching QVC, sharing good times with her friends at church, providing family dinners, Gaither Gospel Music, and later in life, painting became a passion. Most of all she loved supporting her husband and family in any way she could. Shirley was a member of First Baptist Church in Claremore. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother Wright Frank Montgomery and a sister, Mary Bobbye Uhles. The family includes; her husband Roscoe of the home; her children, Randy Hanes and wife Edith of Verdigris, Rick Hanes and wife Debbie of Wagoner, Keith Hanes and wife Carla of Broken Arrow, Sharon Hanes of Broken Arrow; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6-7 PM on Thursday April 13, 2017 at the Luginbuel Funeral Home in Vinita. The funeral service will be held on Friday, April 14, 2017 at 2:00 PM in the Luginbuel Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor Sam Nichols officiating.
