Shirley T. Lundy, 93, a longtime Vinita resident passed away at her home on Monday morning, January 29, 2007. She was born on January 28, 1914 in Boston, MA to John and Elsa (Johnson) Everston. Mrs. Lundy worked at the Hotel Vinita as a Waitress in Vinita and also as a press operator at Burlington in Miami. Shirley was a charter member of the Carter Baptist Church in Rural Afton, she was on the Craig County Election Board for many years and along with her husband was a part of the Gideons. In her spare time she loved to paint she used oils, chalks and pencils to paint Indian pictures, scenery and clay pots. In December of 1996 her husband Homer Lundy preceded her in death, others that preceded her in death are her parents John and Elsa Everston, a son Phillipe George Lundy, one daughter Edeth Gibson-Culver and a daughter in law Carol Lundy, a son in law Kenneth Gibson, one grandson Craig Crane and two great granddaughters Heather Winfrey and Reata Marsh. Survivors include seven children, Homer J. Lundy of Cleora, Barbara Crane and her husband Dean of Bernice, Reva Colvin and her husband Jim of Atlanta, GA, Elsa Johnson and her husband Wayne of rural Afton, Nancy Newcomb and her husband Mike of Cleora, Beath Marsh and her husband Charlie of Afton, Chris Lundy and his wife Donna of rural Afton. Twenty-one grandchildren, Thirty-Three great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM on Thursday, February 1, 2007 at the Trinity Baptist Church with Reverend George Vaughn and Reverend Terry Wise officiating. Interment will follow in the Fairview Cemetery under the direction of the Luginbuel Funeral Home in Vinita. Visitation will be on Wednesday, January 31, 2007 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the funeral home chapel. Casketbearers will be Dale Bates, Wayne Jarvis, Rick Winfrey, Eric Johnson, Kent Gibson, Keith Gibson, Scott Kosciolek, Cory Newcomb, Lance Marsh, Buck Marsh, Paul Speer, James Colvin III, Lee Ford, Scott Matlock, Matt Marsh and Kreg Butler.
