Shirley Reddell

Shirley E. Reddell, 59, a resident of Bartlesville, passed away Sunday, November 2, 2008 at her home. Shirley was born to Otis and Lois (Leavitt) Splinter on May 25, 1949 in Bartlesville. She was raised and educated in Bartlesville. After her High School graduation Shirley left Bartlesville to further her education at the University of Tulsa and the University Of Oklahoma. She was employed as a private secretary until her retirement. Shirley returned to Bartlesville in 2001 to help care for her mother. Shirley enjoyed the outdoors and all that went with it. She loved all animals and was a vegetarian. Shirley was a member of the First Christian Church of Bartlesville. In our sorrow, there is a blessing for she had been ill these past few years and we know that she is finally at peace with the Lord. Shirley is survived by her mother, Lois Splinter of Bartlesville, two brothers, Garth Splinter and his wife Michele of Oklahoma City, Stephen Splinter and his wife Adrienne of Centerville, Utah and on sister Beth Ann Smith and her husband Steven of Bartlesville, seven nieces and nephews, Yvonne Fernandez, David Splinter, Janelle Splinter, Aaron Smith, Jacob Smith, Katie Gabriella Smith, Jessica Splinter and Rachel Splinter and special friends Lindsey Mills and Danya Wattson. Shirley is preceded in death by her father, Otis L. Splinter. In lieu of flowers the family has suggested memorials to SPCA Animal Shelter, 16620 State Highway 123, Bartlesville, Oklahoma 74003. Funeral services will be held on Monday November 10, 2008 at 11:00 A.M. in the Colonial Chapel of the Neekamp-Luginbuel Funeral Home. Reverend Gary Hagan of the First Christian Church will be officiating. Interment will follow in the Nowata Memorial Park Cemetery at 2:00 P.M..
