Shirley "Geraldine" Reed, age 87, of Vinita, OK died Saturday December 25, 2010 at her home. She was born February 18, 1923 in Pawhuska, OK the daughter of K.W. Bruce and Lenora Callahan Bruce. She was raised and received her formal education at Pawhuska. She and Joe M. Reed were united in marriage in Miami, OK and moved to Vinita where they made their home. Geraldine was an active member of the Holy Ghost Catholic Church, as dedicated donor at the Blood Bank where she had donated eighty seven pints of blood. She had worked over 20 years as a house mother with home of hope retiring in 2008. She enjoyed reading, traveling, flower gardening and loved taking care of and spending time with her family. She leaves behind two sons: Joe Reed Jr. and Barbara of Vinita, OK, James "Beau" Reed and Carol of Pryor, a daughter in law, Mary Sue Reed of Vinita, a special daughter in law and husband Martha and Kent Kenapper of Reno Nevada, 10 grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren. She was preceded by her husband Joe in 1987 one son Tommy and a daughter Alice Jeanette also two brothers and one sister. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday December 29, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at the Holy Ghost Catholic Church with The Reverend Alex Kennedy officiating with interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery. Rosary services will be held Tuesday at 6:00 p.m. at Luginbuel Funeral Home. Online condolences may be left at twww.honoringmemories.com.
