ARNOLD MOORE & NEEKAMP FUNERAL HOME, BARTLESVILLE, OK - Silby Monroe Vinson, Jr. passed away Saturday afternoon, July 26, 2014 at Bartlesville Health and Rehab Center. Mr. Vinson was born May 27, 1926 at Skiatook, Oklahoma to Silby Monroe Vinson, Sr. and Autie Lou (Lutrell) Vinson. He received his education in the Vera and Ramona schools and was drafted into the U.S. Army while still a student at Ramona High School. Silby served on the Phillipine Islands during World War II. Following his honorable discharge, he returned to Ramona and was employed by the Arco Pipeline as a heavy equipment operator. Mr. Vinson was in pipeline construction from 1947 until his retirement in 1990. On January 15, 1947, he and Margaret Rebecca Sears were wed at Caney, Kansas and established their home in Ramona. Mrs. Vinson preceded her husband in death, November 13, 2008. Silby was of the Baptist faith and a member of Ramona Masonic Lodge #326 A.F. & A.M. and Ramona American Legion Post #334. Survivors include one daughter, Anna Maria Vinson-Smittle and her husband, Ron of Dewey, Oklahoma; three sisters, Nadine Fees, Betty Melton and Janis Stewart, all of Bartlesville, Oklahoma; one granddaughter, Lacy Huddleston and her husband, Chad of Henryetta, Oklahoma; two great-grandchildren, Amanda Frank and her husband, Gary of Bartlesville and Austin Martin of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; four great-great-grandchildren, Makenzie Peugh, Adyn Peugh, Gemma Frank and Peyton Frank; other family and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; by his wife, Margaret and by a son, Thomas M. Vinson.
