Benjamin Funeral Service - Nowata, Oklahoma - 918-273-2700................................................... The sun has set for 69-year-old Smith "Pip" Liddell of Nowata, Oklahoma. He passed from this life on Saturday, February 11, 2017, at Jane Phillips Medical Center in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. The sun rose in Grenada, Mississippi on June 20, 1947, when he was born one of 14 children to Vernon and Ernestine (Smith) Liddell. Pip as all his friends knew him attended school in Missisippi. He worked Reda Pump in Bartlesville for many years until retirement. In his early years he enjoyed working on cars and watching western movies. He was married to Paula Hudgens on April 1, 1977. Pip had a large family and enjoyed being with them and spending time with them. Pip enjoyed life and will be missed by all who knew him. Preceding Mr. Liddell in death are his parents, Vernon and Ernestine Liddell; and siblings, Sylva Witt, Maggie Sue Gill, Katie Brown, Robie Liddell, Jeanette Liddell, Gloria Jean Liddell, Ann Cox, Leroy Liddell, Vernon Liddell Jr., and Milton Liddell. Surviving Mr. Liddell are his wife Paula Liddell; his children, Smith Liddell Jr. and his wife Susie, of Hayti, Missouri, Anga Jones and her husband Carnell, of Hayti, Missouri, Gloria Liddell of Dyersburg, Tennessee, Sabrina Britt, of Wichita, Kansas, Tony Liddell, of Nowata, Ray Liddell, of Nowata, Jeanette Fuller, of Arlington, Texas, Ashton Barbee, of Nowata, Demonte Barbee, of Nowata, Darrion Davis, of Delaware, Oklahoma; twenty grandchildren; a host of great grandchildren; siblings, twin brother Beaulgard "B.G." Liddell, Dennis Liddell, Samuel Liddell; many other relatives as well as a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and many other family and friends. Funeral services for Smith Liddell will be held 12:00 Saturday, February 18, 2016 at the First Baptist Church on Mississippi Street with Reverend Tony Nash officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery, Nowata, Oklahoma. Arrangements have been entrusted to Benjamin Funeral Service. Online condolences may be left at www.honoringmemories.com.
