Luginbuel Funeral Home of Vinita - 918-256-5555 Sonny A. Bridgeman, 94 year old rural Vinita resident, passed away on Wednesday, August 20, 2014 at his home. He was born on November 19, 1919 in Vinita to Ott and Susie (Sheppard) Bridgeman. Sonny married Helen Lorine McCauslin on August 3, 1939 in Miami, she preceded him in death in 2009. As a young man Sonny was a cowboy and bull rider. He had worked construction for Ed Shanahan, built bridges, worked at Vinita Farmers and Ranchers Livestock Auction and ran his own cattle farm. Sonny enjoyed trapping, coon hunting, fishing and telling great stories. Preceding him in death were his wife, parents, siblings, granddaughter Teresa Dean, great-grandsons, David and Anthony Stelle. The family includes: his children, Stanley Bridgeman and wife Juanita of Big Cabin, Lorena Dean and husband Harold of Vinita, Bill Bridgeman and wife Sandy of Pampa, Texas, Alesia Cox and husband Darrel of Vinita, Regina Pippin and husband Jeff of Locust Grove; thirteen grandchildren, twenty-one great-grandchildren, and seven great-great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM on Friday, August 22, 2014 at the Luginbuel Funeral Home in Vinita. The graveside funeral will be held on Saturday, August 23, 2014 at 10:00 AM at the Carselowey Cemetery, with Pastor Darrel Cox officiating. Online condolences can be made at www.honoringmemories.com.
