Stanley Wayne Christian 69 year old longtime area resident, died Sunday February 8, 2009 at his home in Miami. He was born on December 7, 1939 in Wichita, Kansas to Glenn and Pauline (Holcomb) Christian. Stan graduated from Vinita High School and later attended and played football at Northeastern A & M College in Miami. He was a cowboy, making the National Finals Rodeo in 1976 as a Steer Wrestler. Stan worked as a cowboy and had owned Lucky's in Claremore, before his retirement. He loved being around his friends and rodeoing. The family includes: his daughter, Lynn Burris and husband Ronnie of Lyndale, Texas, two sons, Clay Christian and wife Brenda of Neosho, Missouri, Craig Ryan Christian of Houston, Texas, a brother Charkie Christian and wife Frances of Vinita, a sister, Glenda Dewbre and husband Tom of Blanchard, four grandchildren, Autumn Burris, Derrick Campbell, Chantell Johnson, Corrine Renfro; four great-grandchildren, LeSean and Aydin Johnson, Adaline Campbell and Cash Renfro, also an aunt Babe of Odessa, Texas. There are numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives surviving. He was preceded in death by his parents. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday evening at the Luginbuel Funeral Home for a time of sharing memories. The graveside service will be held Thursday, February12, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Wade Markham officiating. Online condolences may be made at www.honoringmemories.com.
