Stephen Loffer

Benjamin Funeral Service - Nowata, Oklahoma.........................Stephen Willard Loffer was born January 20, 1946 in Independence, Kansas and left this life unexpectedly on Wednesday, April 22, 2015 in the ER at Jane Phillips Nowata Health Center. Steve attended schools in Coffeyville and Altamont, Kansas where he graduated from Altamont High School in 1964. On December 15, 1965 he was drafted in the U.S. Army where he served in the Vietnam War until September 19, 1967 when he received an Honorable Discharge. On May 4, 1981, he married Donna Mae Little in Miami, OK. Steve worked for Jencast, Jensen, Union Pacific Railroad, and GEA Rainey where he retired in 2011. Upon retirement Steve had more time to do what he loved most; spending time with family, helping and visiting with friends and neighbors and being more active at the Southview Church of God where he attended for over 25 years. Steve is survived by his wife Donna of almost 34 years; two sons, Mark Loffer and his wife Sami of Delaware, Chris Loffer of Coffeyville, KS; one daughter, Michelle Larson and her husband Chuck of Dewey; two grandsons, Tripp Loffer, Matt Larson and his wife Jessica; one granddaughter, Jessica Yandell and her husband Ryan; three great-granddaughters, Lilyan and Laelia Yandell, Faithlyn Larson; his mother, Violet Loffer of Coffeyville, KS; one brother, Stan Loffer of Delaware and a host of other family and friends. Steve is preceded in death by three sons, Jesse, James, and Mason; his father, Leo Loffer; a sister, Sharon Loffer and a brother Rick Loffer. Funeral services for Steve are 2:00P.M., Tuesday, April 28, 2015 at Benjamin Funeral Service Chapel with Pastor John Lockabee and Alberta Bray officiating.
