Luginbuel Funeral Home 918-256-5555. Stephen Michael Schwab, 60 year old Vinita resident, passed away on Monday, February 1, 2016 at his home. He was born on August 9, 1955 in San Jose, California to Robert Eugene and Bernita (Mosing) Schwab. Stephen married Susan Fusick on June 13, 1987 in Tulsa. In 1992 they moved to Vinita from Tahlequah. He worked previously for Eastern State Hospital, GRDA, and Home of Hope before becoming the custodian at Hall-Halsell Elemetary School. Stephen was a member of the Vinita Church of the Nazarene, where he was an active and faithful member. He also was a volunteer for the American Red Cross, the Boy Scouts of America and helped many friends along the way. Stephen was a father to around 100 foster children and 5 foreign exchange students over the years. Survivors include his mother Bernita Schwab of Ft. Supply, OK, wife Susan Schwab of the home, children: Sarah Duncan and husband Jared of Tulsa, Julie Barr and husband Shea of Vinita, and Zachary Schwab also of Vinita, brothers: Kenneth Schwab and David Schwab both of Ft. Supply, OK, five grandchildren: Braylee, Brayden, and Colton Duncan, and Ashlynn and Logan Barr, as well as his nieces and nephews: Amy, Lisa, Jasmine, Jessica, Arthur, Wendy, and Matthew Schwab. Vistitation will be from 6-8 p.m, Friday, February 5, 2016 at the Luginbuel Funeral Chapel. Funeral services will be 11 a.m, Saturday, February 6, 2016 at the Church of the Nazarene with Pastor David Stevens officiating. Memorials may be sent to the Katie Goss Make A Wish of Oklahoma, 5201 N Shartel Ave, Oklahoma City, OK 73118. Services are under the direction of Luginbuel Funeral Home.
