Susan Kay Johnston, 45 of Vinita passed away Tuesday, November 27, 2007 at her home following an extended illness. Susan was born January 30, 1962 in Norfolk, Nebraska to Bob and Jane (Zach) Rankin. She graduated from Vinita High School in 1980. Susan married Keith Johnston on October 25, 1981 in Miami, Oklahoma. The "Job" Susan found most rewarding was that of being a Mom and Wife. She has also worked for several years in the banking industry, for the Vinita Public Schools as a secretary, and most recently as a customer service representative at the Craig County Farm Bureau. Survivors include: her husband Keith, a son Brad Johnston and his fiancé Lindsey, a daughter Kristyn Johnston, sisters, Cindy Hupp and husband Jay of Owasso, Melissa Meeks and husband Gary of White Oak, brother Rusty Rankin and wife Lori of Vinita, a sister in-law, Sonia Rankin-Jones of Shawnee, Oklahoma, Bob's widow, Barbara Rankin of Sand Springs, mother and father in-law Bob and Rose Mary Johnston of Vinita, brother and sisters in-law, David and Vanessa Johnston of Aurora, Missouri, Kevin and Linda Johnston of Jenks, Mark and Diane Johnston of Vinita, her loving nieces and nephews, Nikki, Heather, and Matthew Johnston, Josh, Karie and Jake Johnston, Shane, Cole and Bo Johnston, Zach and Tyler Hupp, Khylee Rankin, Kurt and Brandi Surine and Erin and Nathan Meeks. Preceding her in death were her parents, and a brother Jim Rankin. Her children and husband were the joy of Susan's life and no one doubted her love and devotion to them and to her many friends and members of her family. She loved scrapbooking, being with her family and friends and enjoying life by going camping or playing games. She will be missed by all she left behind, but she has left us so many fond memories that we hope to find comfort in. The funeral service will be held Friday, November 30, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at the Holy Ghost Catholic Church with Pastor Jim Bradford officiating. Interment will follow at the Fairview Cemetery in Vinita. Online condolences may be made at www.honoringmemories.com. Arrangements are by the Luginbuel Funeral Home of Vinita.
