Susie (Sue) Jane McKisick passed away September 6, 2013 following complications associated with a cerebral stroke. She was 88. She was born February 6, 1925 in Pensacola, Oklahoma. Sue was named after her grandmothers Susie Jackson and Jane Kay She was predeceased by her husband of 13 years Walter Ray Roberts in 1955. Sue remarried in1962 to Johnny Max McKisick who predeceased her in 2003. She is survived by four sons; Gary Roberts and his wife Sharon of St. Charles, Missouri; John Roberts and his wife Karen of Skiatook; Ken Roberts and his wife Cheryl of Mustang; and Clay McKisick, Vinita. She is, also, survived by three sisters: Janice Scott of Houston, Texas; Margaret Jones of Oklahoma City; and Patsy Mitchell of Irving, Texas; and two brothers; Dr. Felix Kay of Oklahoma City and Kendall Kay of Ft. Worth, Texas. She is predeceased by two sisters; Danny Jones and Earlene Curts; four brothers; Roy Kay, Thomas Kay, Louis Kay and Gene Kay. She is, also, survived by nine grandchildren and Fourteen great-grandchildren. She attended Pensacola and Adair schools. She was an avid basketball player at Adair and very proud of being selected as an all-conference player. She loved all sports and would watch any and all sports programming on TV, especially, basketball. Before experiencing knee problems requiring knee replacement, she was a very accomplished bowler with multiple appearances in Oklahoma state tournaments. She loved to work in her yard attending to her flowers, shrubs and mowing. She, especially, loved to get on her "rider" and mow to her heart's content. Following the death of her husband, Walter, Sue was employed at the Munsingwear Hosiery factory in Vinita for seven years. Subsequently, she was co-owner of McKisick's Jewelry of Vinita. Sue was a long time and active member of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority. She and her husband, John, were very active in Shriner activities in and around northeast Oklahoma. Sue's family will host an open house in her home at 442433 E 240 Road on Tuesday, September 10, 2013 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Services will be held at the United Methodist Church of Vinita at 2:00 PM on September 11, 2013. There will not be an internment following services as the family prefers to conduct family internment at a later date. Following the conclusion of the church service, the family will welcome friends and relatives in the Fellowship Hall of the church.
