Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home (918) 786-2261 - Tena E. (Bennet) Minden, 80 year old resident of Monkey Island, passed away on November 2, 2017 at Integris Grove Hospital. Tena was born on September 25, 1937 in McAlester, Oklahoma. She was the daughter of Orjal and Edith Bennett. At the age of 6, she moved out to farm in Albeam, Oklahoma, the family stayed there until Tena's sophomore year. Then they moved to Bartlesville where she graduated from College High School in 1956. She then moved to Tulsa where she worked for a Law firm where she met and married Burte Banks Jr. In 1974 she moved to Palm Springs, California where she married her best friend and confidant; Larry Minden. Tena had a special place in her heart for helping people. She volunteered at the Pediatric Care Center in Palm Springs, and volunteered at the Desert Hospital where Larry was CEO. When Tena and Larry moved back to Bartlesville in 1990, she volunteered at the geriatric center at Jane Phillips Hospital. Larry retired in 2004 at which time they moved to Monkey Island at Grand Lake. Tena was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers; Theo Bennett and Veranzo Bennett and two sisters; Gretna Hopper and Gailya Oglesbee. She leaves behind her loving husband of the home; Larry Minden; five children; Keith Banks and wife Sherri of Portland, OR, Michelle Hartman and husband Jeff of Tulsa, OK, Kimberly Minden-Bowser and husband Brent of Lakeside, CA, Nick Minden and wife Lynn of Broken Arrow, OK, and Elizabeth Rottinghaus and husband Mike of Overland Park, KS. She will be missed by her two sisters Cassandra Dickson and husband Roy of Nashville, TN and Manan Hankins of Bartlesville, OK. Tena was blessed with eleven grandchildren. Graveside Services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Monday, November 6, 2017 at the Rolston Cemetery in Monkey Island, Oklahoma.
