Terrie Sue Hurd, 77, passed away late Tuesday night, October 15, 2024, at her home in Bartlesville, Oklahoma, surrounded by her loving family.

Terrie was born April 28, 1947, in Greely, Colorado, to Robert Harding Elliott and Leona Inez (Richardson) Elliott. She grew up in Victor, Colorado, and lived in Texas, New Mexico, and Oklahoma, spending the majority of her life residing in Bluff Dale, TX and Bartlesville, Oklahoma. Terrie received her Bachelor of Arts degree in English from East Texas State University and her master’s degree from Tarleton State University. Terrie moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma in 2005, and on July 15 of that year, married John A. Hurd. The couple moved to Bartlesville in 2007 and have resided there since.

Terrie was a school teacher, a real estate agent, a college professor, a juvenile probation officer and later, a court reporter for Washington County and retired in 2012 from her position as clerk for the Council of Osage Nation. 

Terrie is survived by her husband and best friend, John Hurd; two sons, King Lewis and his wife, Cathey of Dripping Springs, Texas and Jobe Lewis and his wife, Lyndsey of Windsor, Colorado; one daughter, Rachelle Jamison and her husband, Steve of Cedar Park, Texas; a stepson and stepdaughter, Greg Hurd and Stacey Tidmore; seven grandchildren, Ross, Madison, Jackson, Grayson, Piercen, and Whitten Lewis and Kasey Jamison. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Peggy Elliott, her brother Tom Elliott, and by her beloved son, Ross Lewis.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Arnold Moore & Neekamp Funeral Home and Cremation Service. Terrie will be cremated and the family will have a private celebration of life for family and friends in Stephenville, Texas. To send an online condolence, visit www.honoringmemoriesbartlesville.com.
