Thelma Reed

Thelma Ruth Odell Reed, age 81, a resident of Bartlesville died Sunday March 25, 2007 at Jane Phillips Medical Center. She was born February 2, 1926 in Broken Arrow, OK the daughter of Charles B. Luster and Goldie M. St. Clair Luster. Thelma was reared and attended a one room school in the community of Sunnyside, east of Broken Arrow. At the age of ten moved with the family to Broken Arrow where she continued her education until 1940 when the family moved to Ramona, OK where she graduated high school in 1945. She and Earnest Odell were married in 1946 and made their home and raised four children. In 1964 she and Leslie M. Reed were married and made their home in Bartlesville until his death in 1980. Mrs. Reed was a home health nursing assistant and of the Baptist Faith. She enjoyed and listening to Happy Hill Church services on the radio, quilting, playing cards and dominoes with her friends and family and camping with her daughters and great grand children. Mrs. Reed is survived by her daughters, Phyllis and Danny Freeman of Bartlesville, OK (Onion Patch USA), Barbara Fogle of Dewey, OK and Janet and Jack Carter of Bartlesville, OK, twelve grand children and 23 great grand children. She was preceded in death by a son, Chuckie T. Odell in 1958, her parents and one brother and two sisters. Memorials in Mrs. Reed's name may be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association, 3300 E. Sunrise Drive Tucson, AZ 85718. Private family graveside services were held on Monday in the Ochelata Cemetery.
