Theresa was born February 13, 1940 in Bartlesville to Virgil Rector and Lola Mae (Marshall) Shaw. She attended school in Bartlesville and graduated from College High School in 1958. Theresa met Arthur Lee Phillips when they both worked at the Osage Theatre. They were married on February 5, 1959 at the Virginia Avenue Baptist Church. For the next 24 years, Theresa followed Arthur on various U.S. Air Force assignments, and raised three sons. During that time, she was an active member of the NCO Wives' Club, served as a volunteer Red Cross dental assistant, and was an elementary school Teacher's Aid. Theresa began her 19-year career with Dillard's Department Stores in Shreveport, Louisiana as a retail associate. In 1984, they moved to Bartlesville and Theresa helped open the new Dillard's Store. She retired from Dillard's on November 4, 2000. In retirement, Theresa loved to take road trips throughout the United States and had traveled in 47 states. She volunteered as a Red Kettle Bell Ringer for the Salvation Army for the past two years. Theresa found time to make grape jelly and strawberry jam for the past several years. She took great pleasure in tending to her many sunroom plants and gave everyone a greenery tour that came to visit. Theresa's greatest pleasure was watching her seven grandchildren and great-granddaughter develop and grow into young adults.
