Theresia Blakely, 86, of Nowata, Oklahoma, left to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, March 26, 2012 at Park's Edge Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Theresia was born on July 29, 1925 to Landwirt Franz Soukup and Maria Geborene Koberl in Droschelhof, Kreis Krummau, Germany. She met Msgt. Charles Bruce Blakely while he was stationed in Hanau am Main, Germany. They were married there on September 7, 1957 and shortly thereafter, moved to Nowata upon Bruce's retirement from his military service. Theresia was a homemaker, wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, taking them for long outdoor walks and letting them splash around in her outdoor tub in the backyard. She was their "GiGi". She also loved having afternoon coffee with her friends and enjoyed working in her flowerbeds each Spring. She was of the Catholic faith. Her husband, Bruce, one son, Walter Blakely and one brother, Franz Soukup, preceded her in death. Survivors are; daughter, Irene Blakely, granddaughter, Brandy Mullikin and her husband, Jeff, grandson, Jason Sudderth and his wife Erica, four grandchildren, Haylee and Jett Mullikin, and Blake and Jaelin Sudderth, all of Nowata. Four sisters; Rosa Sadloch of Felsberg, Germany, Marie Ziegler of Breuna, Germany, Josephine Basil, of Land O Lakes, Florida and Anna Finis and her husband Karl, also of Breuna, Germany along with many nieces and nephews and their children. A private family burial officiated by Father Jose Thottathil was given Friday, March 30th, under the direction of Benjamin Funeral Service at the Nowata Cemetery. The family has asked that memorial contributions be sent to the Nowata City/County Library.
