Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home, Grove, OK 918-786-2261. Thomas William Napolitano went to Heaven on Wednesday, October 21, 2015 with his wife Billie M. (Meredith) Napolitano, his son William Thomas Napolitano and daughter Virginia Dee Napolitano by his side at Freeman Hospital in Joplin. Tom was born in New York City to Nicholas Napolitano and Virginia Rita Arenholz. Tom served in the USMC from 1961 until 1966 and, it was in Oahu, Hawaii that is where he met his wife of 49 plus years. Leaving the military Tom returned to New York and went to work for the Con Edison Gas and Electric Company in New York and retiring from there in 1999. In 2008 they moved to Grove, Oklahoma. Both Tom and Billie were looking forward to spending their 50th anniversary with their children on November 27th 2015. Tom's health became an issue in May which sent him to Freeman Hospital in Joplin, Missouri on May 25, 2015 and for 100 of 149 days he fought to get well. Tom enjoyed skydiving, deep sea fishing, boating and good friends. Tom found time to read about Cherokee history and enjoy all things Cherokee. He looked forward to attending the Trail of Tears conference annually and art shows and museums, along with the OK Chapter of the Trail of Tears efforts to Mark the Trail of Tears survivors. An avid sports fan, he enjoyed college football, NY baseball, football, and his hockey teams. Tom enjoyed his five grandchildren, Tomas Anthony Rooney, ToniMarie Amodeo, Thomas John "T.J." Amodeo, Joseph Thomas "Joey" Napolitano and Cassidy Mary Napolitano. Survivors include his brother Robert Napolitano and his wife Randee of Las Vegas, Nevada and his brother Joseph Napolitano and his wife Georgiana of Las Vegas Nevada, also by his son's wife Linda (Sarra) Napolitano, numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. A lifelong friend Adele "Cookie" Collura of Warwick, NY was more like a sister, a friendship from their births. He was preceded in death by his father Nicholas Napolitano and his mother Virginia Rita (Arenholz) Napolitano. Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, October 24, 2015 at Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home, Grove, OK. A visitation will be held from 12:00 till 2:00 just prior to the service.
