Thomas E. "Tom" Williams, 78 year old White Oak resident, died Wednesday, July 25, 2007 at the Craig General Hospital in Vinita. He was born January 14, 1929 in Estella, Oklahoma to O. B. and Anna M. (Cline) Williams. Tom served in the U. S. Army from April 1951 to April 1953. He married Lavonne Hoffman on November 25, 1954 in Pryor. Tom had worked for the Peabody Coal Company as a heavy equipment operator in their coal mining operation. He was an ordained deacon of the Pleasant View Baptist Church and was currently a member of the White Oak Baptist Church; Tom was also a member of the American Legion. The family includes; his wife Lavonne of the home, a son, David Williams and wife Kathy of Vinita, a brother, Omer B. Williams and wife Pat of Vinita, grandchildren, Leandra and Kenny Williams of Vinita, Robbie Green of Vinita, great-grandchildren, Kel-C, Landon and Lance Green, Sammi and Mia Williams, all of Vinita. Tom was preceded in death by his parents and one daughter Linda Ruth Williams in 1973. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. on Friday July 27, 2007 at the Luginbuel Funeral Home. The graveside funeral will be held, Saturday, July 28, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. at the Fairview Cemetery in Vinita, with Mr. Roy Williams and Pastor Skip McClain officiating.
