Thurman Rowe Sr.

January 19, 1941 — February 4, 2009

Thurman Lee Rowe Verlie Rowe and Lorene Parks were married in 1940, and to this union a son was born on January 19, 1941 Thurman Lee Rowe was born in Pensacola, Oklahoma. Thurman died in Medical City Hospital on Wednesday February 4, 2009 in Dallas, Texas He was raised in the Langley area and joined the Island Ford Methodist Church at age eleven and attended Island Ford grade school and Attucks and Ketchum high school. He received his BS and MS in engineering degree from Lincoln University at Jefferson City, MO. He served in the U.S. Army seeing combat in the jungle of Cambodia and South Viet Nam. He and Ermaleen Jones were united in marriage in Tulsa, OK on December 5, 1970. Thurman was of the Methodist Faith and attended Grace Baptist Church in Sperry. He enjoyed playing the guitar, gardening, fishing and loved animals and his 1929 model A Ford. Thurman leaves behind his wife, Ermaleen of the home, three children, Thurman Lee Rowe Jr., Theresa Lynn Rowe and Nathaniel Eugene Rowe both of Tulsa, OK, two sisters, Mona and her husband Rev. Robert Ramsey Jr. of Vinita and Verlene Allen of Vinita, one brother, Danny Rowe of Tulsa and a host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother. Funeral services will be Saturday February 14, 2009 at 11:00 at the First Baptist Church in Vinita with Rev. Farris Downing officiating with interment to follow in the Ketchum Cemetery under the direction of the Luginbuel Funeral Home. Online condolences may be left at www.honoringmemories.com
