Tommy "Tom" Chezem, 74, passed away on Friday, May 18, 2012 in Grove, OK. The cornerstone of our family and always willing to help those in need, he battled Parkinson's Disease for over 10 years and now enters His Heavenly Kingdom fully healed. Born February 22, 1938 in Ft. Smith, AR to Mose Eddie and Emma Chezem, he spent his childhood and young adulthood in the Bartlesville, OK area. He retired from the United States Postal Service with over 30 years of service as the postmaster in Afton, OK. Tom moved his family to the South Grand Lake area in 1976 after purchasing Port Co-Mar in Tia Juana which they operated until 1980. After his retirement from the Postal Service in 1993, he spent many years in sales for Arrowhead Yacht Club at the Grove, OK location. A devoted husband and father, his life was an example of hard work, love of family and wisdom. Survived by his wife of 53 years, Kelly and sons, Mark Eddie and wife, Jan of Allen, TX; Coy and wife, Devone of Claremore, OK; Joe and wife Marilyn of Ketchum, OK; grandsons, Chace, Tommy, Troy and Ty. Honorary pallbearers include Tom's four grandchildren, Rob Collins, Mark Harwood and Craig Mader. The family also wishes to extend special appreciation to the staff of Serenity Hospice of Langley for their loving care of Tom over the last eight months. A Rosary will be said 6:00 pm, Tuesday, May 22 with a Mass of Christian Resurrection 10:00 am, Wednesday, May 23. Both services will be held at St. Frances of Rome Catholic Church in Langley, OK.
