Tressie Shaw

Tressie Lois Shaw, 90, passed away December 2, 2010 at her residence , rural Nowata, OK. She was born on February 1, 1920 at Ava, MO, the daughter of James and Nora (Thompson) Owen. Tressie was united in marriage to Homer Lloyd Shaw in 1947 at Harrison, Arkansas. She was a homemaker. She loved life and her family, even as that family grew through the years. She is survived by children: Frances and Richard Halvorsen, Richardson, TX, Louetta and John Miller, Bartlesville, OK, Christine and Frank Mortan, Delaware, OK, Joie and Brad Gill, Eden, NY, Colbert and betsy Shaw, Killeen, TX, Willis Shaw, Cherryvale, KS, Janita and Steve Gosney, and Homer Lee Shaw, Muskogee, OK. Brothers and sisters: Delita Jenkins, Ava, MO, Thelma Cox, Moline, IL, Huba Pruitt, Borger, TX, Adrain Owen, Ava, MO, Inetha Madison, Moline, IL, and Colbert Owen, Lake Havasu, AZ. Grandchildren: Barry, Kevin and Kyle Barkley, Justin Shaw, Michael and Brian Halvorson, Jimmy and Sarah Shaw, Crystal Knight, Nanthaniel and Stetson Seever, Becky Hesslen and Frank Mortan, Jr., Jessica, Rachel and Luke Gill. Great Grandchildren: Corey, Kevin, Samuel, Prestley, and Hunter Barkley, Britney Peacock & Levi Barkley, Preston & Justin Halvorson, Kyla, Rece & Jace Barkley, Madison Shaw, Kelcie & Logan Knight, Rachael and Laura Mortan, Garrett & Maeghan Hesslen, Bryson Seever, Makayla Wheeler, Kaylee Amerine. Tressie was preceded in death by her parents, husband Homer L. Shaw, brothers and sisters; Willie Owen, Cleo Owen, Roberta Kapuska, Zenna Haynes, and Ethel Lawrence. Funeral Services will be held 10:00 A. M. at Benjamin Funeral Chapel, Saturday, December 4, 2010 . Burial will be in Pawhuska City Cemetery, Pawhuska, OK. Memorial contributions may be given to: Comforting Hands Hospice or Elder Care both of Bartlesville, OK and may be left at the funeral home. Benjamin Funeral Service was intrusted to conduct the services.
