Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home Grove, OK (918) 786-2261 --- Vada Marie (Swofford) Austin, age 85, passed away on Friday, November 21, 2014 in Fairland, Oklahoma surrounded by her family. Vada was born on October 11, 1929 in Berryville, Arkansas. She was the daughter of Clarence and Alta (Plumlee) Swofford. Vada was united in marriage to the love of her life, James Austin on December 22, 1950 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. James and Vada were blessed with two children Mike and Carol. The Austin family, James, Vada and Mike, had over 100 years combined service with State Farm Insurance. She was a faithful member of the Woodlake Assembly of God Church in Tulsa. Vada was an extraordinary cook, and was famous for her pies. James and Vada retired and moved to Fairland, Oklahoma in 2005 and attended Miami First Assembly of God. Vada was an avid vegetable and flower gardener, but most of all she was a devoted wife of James for 59 years, loving grandmother and great-grandmother. Vada was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and three sisters; Ruby Keeland, Blanche Summers and Ruth Freeman. She is survived by her son and his wife Mike and Judy Austin of Fairland, Oklahoma, daughter Carol Leding of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Grandson Rev. Jamie Austin and his wife Jen, Granddaughter Mandy Tyndall, Grandson Adam Leding and his wife Beth, Granddaughter Rebecca Culver and her husband Daniel. Vada was blessed with seven great grandchildren; Delaney Tyndall, Will Tyndall, Wyatt Austin, Avery Austin, Jackson Culver, Braedyn Culver, and Ronni Jo Leding. She is also survived by her brother Archie Swofford of Berryville, Arkansas and her sister Evelene Loftin of Tulsa, Oklahoma. A visitation for family and friends will be held from 2:00 pm until 4:00 pm Sunday, November 23, 2014 at Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home Chapel in Grove, Oklahoma. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm, Monday November 24, 2014 at Miami First Assembly, 1815 E. Steve Owens Blvd., Miami, Oklahoma. Vada will be laid to rest beside her husband in Hickory Grove Cemetery in Grove, Oklahoma. Friends and family may leave online condolences by viewing Vada's obituary at www.honoringmemories.com.
