Vada Margarette Robinson, 89-year-old Nowata resident, passed away Tuesday, April 13, 2010 at the Jane Phillips Nowata Health Center. Mrs. Robinson was born February 21, 1921 in rural Nowata County, Oklahoma to James Layfette Inman and Ethel Evelyn Tatum-Inman. Mrs. Robinson grew up and attended schools in the Diamond Point and Bugscuffle area. Mrs. Robinson married Herbert Lee Robinson on July 6, 1940 in Nowata. During their time here, Mrs. Robinson worked as a nurse aid for many years and also owned and operated a restaurant. Later, she turned her efforts to being a mom, and grandmother. Mrs. Robinson loved being a mother, a grandmother, a great-grandmother, and a great-great-grandmother. She loved making people laugh and feel good. When Mrs. Robinson wasn't visiting friends or family she was likely tending to her flowers and plants. Mrs. Robinson was also a devout member of the New Life Assembly of God. Mrs. Robinson is survived by seven daughters, Sue and husband Jim Hayes of Winganon, Janet and husband Ernie Farbro of Chelsea, Joan and husband Donald Kinzer of Chelsea, Vada and husband Ken McAfee of Madill, Connie and husband Johnnie Swalley of Nowata, Ruby and husband Bud Stark of Nowata, and Barbara Robinson of Cushing; by two brothers, Gary and his wife Judy Helmick of Claremore and Jim Robinson of Nowata; by one sister, Betty and husband Emory Briggs of Nowata; by 36 grandchildren; by 51 great-grandchildren; and by 26 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Robinson, Sr.; by a son, Herbert Robinson, Jr.; by a grandson, Kevin McKinnon; by brothers, Alva, Earl, Carl, and Oscar; by sisters, Ruby and Jewel; and by a daughter-in-law, Judy Robinson. Funeral services for Mrs. Robinson will be at 10:00a.m., Friday, April 16, 2010 at the New Life Assembly of God with Pastor Arlis Henegar officiating. Interment will follow in the Nowata Memorial Park Cemetery.
