Velma Yarbrough

Velma Nan Yarbrough, 91, formerly of Pryor, passed away Friday Feb. 9, 2007 in Santa Anna, CA. Born on January 18, 1916 near Havana, AR to Samuel and Laura (Yandell) Gist. She moved to Shawnee in 1917 and was married to James Ross Bailey on Feb. 2, 1936. In 1937, their only child, Jackie Nan was born. They then moved to California. She was baptized into the Church of Christ in 1937. She was employed as a secretary with the San Bernardino City Schools for 20 years and with the University of California at Riverside for 5 years. Her husband preceded her in death in Nov. of 1969. She was also preceded in death by her parents, 3 brothers; Floyd, Henry and Vernon. She is survived by her daughter-Jackie Nan Ostendor, Sister-Nellie Skinner Granddaughter-Laura LaTrace Great Granddaughter-Jamie LaTrace 2 Great Great Grandchildren Graveside funeral services will be 1:00 P.M. Friday, Feb. 16, 2007 at the Graham Memorial Cemetery in Pryor where she will be buried next to her first husband. Services are under the direction of Luginbuel Funeral Home of Vinita, OK.
