Vera Tresler

Luginbuel Funeral Home of Vinita, 918-256-5555, -- Vera Lee Tresler of Vinita, Oklahoma passed away in Chattanooga, Tennessee at Morning Pointe Assisted Living on January 9, 2015. She was born to Arthur and Anna Devore of Vinita on November 1, 1925. Vera graduated from Vinita High School and lived there all her adult life. She moved to Chattanooga, Tennessee in 2010 to be closer to her daughter and family. Vera worked with her husband, Byron Tresler, running Tresler Motors for a number of years acting as accountant and bookkeeper. She later worked for the City of Vinita for 28 years as Assistant Librarian and in the City Clerk's office. She was elected the City Treasurer for 4 terms. Vera was an ardent fan of the Oklahoma Sooners and the Atlanta Braves. She was a member of the Pilgrim Presbyterian Church in Vinita. She enjoyed crocheting, needlepoint, reading, gardening, traveling, and keeping up with city politics. Vera was preceded in death by her husbands Bill Spradlin and Byron Tresler, son Ken Tresler, siblings: Lois Sippy, Ladema Schoech, Sonny Mabery, C. R. Devore and Vermel Williams. She is survived by a brother, Hugh Devore of Cushing, daughter, Vicki Lyn (Tom) Kolb of Chattanooga, step-daughter Cindy (Gary) Walker, step-son Jay (Judy) Tresler, daughter-in-law Linette Tresler of Edmond, Grandchildren: Jon (Patty) Kolb of Muskogee, Dr. Jennifer (Norm Steuer) Kolb of Chattanooga, Annah (Ryan) Tresler Fischer, Andrew and Alex Tresler of Edmond and Great-grandchildren: Sarah Kate Kolb and Jack Kolb of Muskogee. Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m., Saturday, January 17, 2015 at the Pilgrim Presbyterian Church in Vinita. Memorial services will start at 11:00 am. The family wishes to thank the staff at Morning Pointe Assisted Living of Hixson for their care and concern. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis or Habitat for Humanity. Services are under the direction of Luginbuel Funeral Home of Vinita.
