Vern Starks

Vern Starks, Lifetime rural Vinita area resident died Saturday July 7, 2012 at Hillcrest Medical Center in Tulsa. He was born February 24, 1930 in Monticello, Iowa to Charles (Bud) Starks and Maggie Colvin Starks. He was a farmer and loved working the farm, running his bulldozer and raising long horn cattle. Vern was an avid fisherman and hunter that enjoyed western movies with his dog and best friend Roxie on his lap. Vern leaves behind his four children, Mike Starks of Ketchum, OK, Kathy Starks of Ketchum, OK, Debra Weaver and her husband Stan of Grove, OK and Barbara Peper of Tulsa, OK, one brother and sister in law Howard (Jim) and Maxine Starks of Vinita also 10 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife Patsy Trundle Starks in 2006. Memorial service will be held Friday July 13, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at Luginbuel Funeral Home with pastors Tommy and Mary McGlasson officiating.
