Funeral services for Vicki Lynn Swalley are 2:00 p.m., Thursday, September 27, 2012 at Benjamin Funeral Service Chapel with Justin McKee officiating. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. Vicki Lynn Swalley passed away Sunday, September 23, 2012 at Jane Phillips Medical Center in Bartlesville. She was born on October 17, 1948 in Okmulgee, Oklahoma to William Madison and Ruth Elva Maxine (Tolbert) Summers. She graduated from Oklmulgee High School and married David "Lynn" Swalley on April 20, 2968 in Wynona, Oklahoma. She helped to put Lynn through college by working at the Tastee Freeze and owned her own cosmetology shop after getting her cosmetology degree. Vicki was initiated into the Delaware Order of the Eastern Star #335 on Feb 18, 1980 where she was the Past Matron in 1988. She consolidated with the Dewey Order of the Eastern Star #312 on September 24, 1990. On Nov 9, 1992 she became affiliated with the Nowata Sunrise Order of the Eastern Star #22. She was a member of Sunrise #22 at the time of her death. She worked at Sandy's Bakery in Coffeyville, Kansas and also earned her Dietary Manager Degree at Coffeyville Community College, soon after, working at the Hays House for 17 years. Vicki also became a professional cake decorator by winning 3rd in decorating wedding cakes and 2nd in decorating candy at the International Cake Exploration Society in Tulsa, OK on her second try. She also worked at the Beauty Carousel in Bartlesville as their manager for 10 years. She retired in 2002 because of illness. Vicki is survived by her husband, David "Lynn" Swalley of the home; two sons, John William Swalley of Delaware and Justin Lynn Swalley and wife Dana Michelle of Delaware; a daughter, Tonya Kaye Lemon and husband William of Delaware; two sisters, Jeanna Susan Summers of Piedmont, Missouri and Lisa Eilene Summers of Okmulgee, OK; a stepfather, Tommy Lee Bolding; five grandchildren, Dakota Lynn Lemon, Jessie Alan Lemon, Austin Madison Lemon, Brianna Nikole Lemon, Natalie Justice Linn Swalley; two step grandchildren, Daniel Myers and Jheri Myers and a niece, Crystal Lea Christian, and nephew Sean Thomas Davis. She is preceded in death by her parents, William "Bill" Summers and Ruth Elva Maxine Summers. Arrangements have been entrusted to Benjamin Funeral Service.
