Vickie Lou Ayres, 66, died in a car accident, Friday December 20, 2013. Miss Ayres was born on July 1, 1947, in Vinita, OK. She was raised in Bluejacket, OK. She then moved to Duncan, OK where she graduated High School. She worked at Honeywell, Western Electric, and then began her singing career with the popular Oklahoma City group "Maya." She then became a manicurist after getting a degree in cosmetology. Then at the end life she became an associate in the Beauty Department at Kohl's department store. She was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church and the Order of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She was known to be kind, funny, tender hearted, forgiving, faithful, and passionate about life. She enjoyed singing, playing the guitar, reading books, computer games, and spending time with family and friends. Her children, grandchildren, boyfriend Joel, church, and singing were the things that brought her the most happiness. Her favorite music was any and all, and her favorite scriptures and readings were; 1 Corinthians 4: 12, 13, Psalm 23, and John 11: 25, 26. She is preceded in death by her father, Ralph Ayres, brother; Andrew Ayres, and sister; Rita Hayworth. She is survived by her mother; Gloria Taylor, brother; Todd Taylor, sister; Jeanie Horton, daughter; Cindra D. Bobby, son; Charles I. Brown and grandchildren; Taylor Morris, Austin Brown, and Christian Brown. Visitation will be held for family and friends in OKC from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday, December 29, 2013 at Smith and Kernke Funeral Home. Visitation will also be held from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. Monday, December 30, 2013 at Luginbuel Funeral Home in Vinita, Ok. Mass of Christian Burial will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, December 30, 2013 at Holy Ghost Catholic Church in Vinita, OK. Burial will follow at Bluejacket Cemetery in Bluejacket, OK.
